Machine Girl is a Brooklyn-based artist whose music incorporates elements of jungle, breakbeat, footwork, rave, and digital hardcore to create a unique eclectic mix that I've personally never found paralleled. The band consists of Matt Stephenson (production/vocals) and Sean Kelly (live drums). The name 'Machine Girl' is derived from the 2008 Japanese grindhouse film of the same name, and samples from the film and various reviews can be found throughout the band's debut album WLFGRL. MG is signed under London label Dred Collective, which houses many other digital hardcore artists, and they have collaborated with other artists in the scene (Five Star Hotel) and on similar label Hausu Mountain (Bonnie Baxter).
Machine Girl was my main inspiration for making this website, as their whole aesthetic kinda encapsulates what I wanted to recreate. They're my favorite artist and I'll love them til death.
